G’JOOB

MAGAZINE

“After years of staring at the same bleak and boring canvas, plastered and mashed with a golden syrup of corn vomit, D-list celebrities and drunks stained with the fruits of the night… we finally said “enough” and took a razor sharp samurai sword to the current situation. In a scream of fury, ripping the gripping arms of the awful and shameless publications, we free our needy and craving souls”.

PROJECT INFO

I was both co-editor and designer for G’Joob, which was a free self-published magazine targeted at students. This was a self-motivated project by a friend of mine and I after we had finished our Bachelor Degrees. It's focus was to act as a social commentary for youth culture. It included articles submitted by both myself and other contributors from a range of different social groups, which were often very cynical, comical and enlightening.

LET'S GO ON AN ADVENTURE

I believe in the details. The unnoticed nuances. The subtle changes and the seamless transitions. The ones that tell stories, the ones that make you feel like you are there. And the power that they have to take you back in time or propel you into the future.

Originally from New Zealand, I’ve left The Shire to explore opportunities in Toronto. I’m a Senior Designer with 10+ years experience, having developed a broad skillset across all areas of design - including print, digital media, UX design, branding, identity, and traditional/digital illustration.
